Anyway can anyone tell me whats wrong and how to fix it because it says downloading but only the houses and like 2 outfits are on there that i downloaded. PS. I have Mozilla Firefox.

Maybe your memory is full and something is wrong with your computer. It does that to mine all the time when i download houses.
Did you label the folder, "Downloads"? I'm sure you did, but if you didn't it might help because it automatically downloads stuff into the game. If it's by the other folders like "Collections", "Cameras", and 'Logs". Also, some of the content is ".sims2pack" or something like that, which means that it can be downloaded into the game instantly, like the body-shop items. Just check the endings of all the files and see which ones belong where.
Hope this helps.

There are so many reasons why your downloads aren't working, it's hard to figure out where to start.

First off, do you have a Downloads folder? Go to your files (my documents>EA Games folder>then The Sims2. You should see a listing of folders. Look for the Downloads folder. If you don't see one, you need to create one. Just right click, then click on "create new folder". Make sure you name it Downloads with the capital D.

Now, when you are downloading, where are you saving your files to? I save mine to a folder on my desktop.

Now, there are two files you can download, .package and simpacks. The .package files look like a piece of paper when you unzip the file. The simpack files look like a blue box with a sim figure popping out of it.

Usually when you download, the files are zipped. You need to unzip them. There are two programs you can use, winzip and winrar. I use winzip. To unzip a file, just right click the file, then click on the "unzip to here" button. It will unzip the package into the folder you are looking at.

If it's a simpack file, to access the content, just double click it and follow the prompts. It will self install. If it's a .package file, you'll have to move that file to your Downloads folder. You can just click and drag the file over.

Once I install my downloads, I always go into the sims bodyshop to test them. The bodyshop will allow you to view the custom content (clothes, makeup, hairstyles) without having to start up the game itself. If you like everything, you can exit the bodyshop and start playing your game.

Now, there is one thing about downloading you need to remember. Check the file and make sure it does not need a mesh. If it says it needs a mesh, you'll need to find the mesh and download and install it before the item will work in your game.

I hope this gave you a good start. For more information and better help, I suggest going to the Sims2.com website. There is tons of information about downloading and installing.

I'm not entirely sure I understand your question. Are you downloading and unzipping the files? In other words are you using winzip and winrar? Or are you just double clicking the icons that look like sims 2 icons and getting a screen that asks if you want to install? For the majority of downloads you need programs named winzip and winrar to extract the files that are compressed. You can get free trials of these online, you'll find them if you google them. Install them on your computer.
Once you download an item you need to double click the icon and it will open either winzip or winrar depending on what was used to compress them. Then you need to "extract" these to "mydocuments/ea games/the sims 2/Downloads".
If you don't have a downloads folder, create one in that sims 2 folder. You can't just put stuff on your desktop because the game won't recognise them. They have to be in your downloads folder to work.
E-mail me if you're still stuck or don't understand what I'm talking about. :)

Check the game options(That's where you can do things like make the Sim have free will) and you will see a option like "show content".Go to Modthesims2.com for more help.
