Essentially that is what the debate is, freedom versus equality, capitalism or socialism. You do know that the two opposed positions cannot truly mix, the tension is too great for that to ever work.

The thoughts I have asked about this evening were inspired to say the least by this article. If you care about freedom you should read it. If your focus is equality and socialism, try reading Marx, perhaps the Communist Manifesto.

I prefer freedom, AND equality. The sad part is, I only find those two attributes in belonging to a Conservative party. So, therefore, I am joined with Republicans, and not a Socialist Party, as Democrats, and Liberals are. Know why? In a Socialist Party, no one has freedom, not a man, or a woman, nor their children. I cannot accept that. Our forefathers didn't die to make America a controlled nation, they fought and died to set themselves, and future Americans, FREE. I can't forget what they went through for US! I cannot allow my son, to never know what America was built on, nor the pain, suffering, absolute agony, our blessed forefathers went through, for future Americans, they would never know, even considering the fact, that we the people right now, would never have to go through the ultimate sacrifice, to save ourselves, and our children, from being controlled and ruled. It would appear that they didn't realize, after the battles, and the wars were won for their freedom, and ours, that the bad guys were going to come back, and try to take from us, what our forefathers had already gained for America. That would be FREEDOM!
It is sad that we must constantly keep fighting for the one thing most of us want. The right to be ourselves, think, do, and act as we believe is right. I want to know, when will we beable to stop dying, just to live, as we deem correct, for our personal lives?

Definitely, I care more about freedom versus equality and hands down capitalism wins over socialism. It is amazing to me that liberals don't see Truth over emotionalism. I wish these people could really SEE that even though they mean well, they are not looking at what the consequences of their actions might bring to the entire ideas of what this country was founded on. And while I agree that this country is not "perfect" it is still the very best country to live in and we should be proud to call it home. ( I am not talking about the liberals from 50 years ago) I am talking about the far left liberals we have today. Please! if you don't like what is happening in this country it is OK and even GOOD to speak up and say so, however these people are spouting off about things that make absolutely NO sense to the point that sane people don't even listen to them anymore. Everything is a conspiracy to them. GEEZ!

Capitalism please. Socialism just does not work and only helps people that don't work and don't want to work get some money that they don't deserve.

Capitalism encourages people to go out and do the best they can do, be the best they can be, and make a life for themself.

Socialism doesn't, or if it does, to a very small degree.

And as for Freedom or Equality. I will take my freedom. And with that freedom I will live my life.

That guys right on. I actually read the article. Liberals time and time again erode the need for personal responsibility. Any student of history will see that is the start of a nations downfall. Even the French are starting to see socialism dosent work. See there last elections.

Freedom & Conservatism. Anything less is Liberalism, which is a mental disorder.

Freedom and capitalism.

Socialism does not work.

Equality would destroy the American economy. Why punish your best and brightest? That would be like sending a bunch of average people to represent us in Beijing.
