If you take you malibu to your local chevy dealership they can correct this problem.You need this system to work correctley to stop theft of the car.

In order to get the car to start, you need to put your key in on position for 10 mins. After 10 mins, the light will turn off and you should be able to start your car. This is the way it worked for my 2004 chevy malibu. If it keeps going on, take it to the dealer.

in step with your vendors instruction manual pg 2-18 Passlock Your motor vehicle is supplied with the Passlock theft-deterrent device. Passlock is a passive theft-deterrent device. Passlock facilitates gasoline if the ignition lock cylinder has not been tampered with. for the duration of known operation, the theft device easy will come on for about 5 seconds whilst the secret's became to ON and the engine is began. If the theft device easy flashes with the substantial in ON, wait 10 minutes till the easy is going off. Then turn the ignition key to OFF till now attempting to start the engine.

if u look at the ignition key it has a little black squre on it that is part of your thief unit. the other is the switch its self,and that goes right to the computer.there must be a loose wire that was kicked. if u look under the dash near the steering wheel there should be two thin white wiresin orange plastic cover make sure they r pluged up

disconnect power source from fuse panel there wont be a theft system but it will shut up lol. and there is a way to do so. if the fuse isnt in your panel then find a wire diagram. heres a clue.... there is nothing that has to do with cars that can not be done.
