these terms are called stracture of the mind. the ID "it" functions in the emotional part of the mind. At birth a baby’s mind is all Id " want want want". The Id is the primitive mind. It contains all the basic needs and feelings. It is the source for libido (psychic energy). And it has only one rule the “pleasure principle”: “I want it and I want it all now”. Id equates to "Child". Id too strong thats bound up in self-gratification and uncaring to others.

the ego "I" functions with the rational part of the mind. The Ego develops out of growing awareness that you can’t always get what you want. it relates to the real world and operates via the “reality principle”. The Ego realizes the need for compromise and negotiates between the Id and the Superego. The Ego's job is to get the Id's pleasures but to be reasonable and bear the long-term consequences in mind. The Ego denies both instant gratification and pious delaying of gratification. The term ego-strength is the term used to refer to how well the ego copes with these conflicting forces. To undertake its work of planning, thinking and controlling the Id, the Ego uses some of the Id's libidinal energy. In transactional analysis, Ego equates to "Adult".
Ego too strong, its extremely rational and efficient, but cold, boring and distant.

the superego "over-I" is the last part of the mind to develop. It might be called the moral part of the mind. The Superego becomes an embodiment of parental and societal values. It stores and enforces rules. It constantly strives for perfection, even though this perfection ideal may be quite far from reality or possibility. Its power to enforce rules comes from its ability to create anxiety.it has two subsystems: Ego Ideal and Conscience. The Ego Ideal provides rules for good behavior, and standards of excellence towards which the Ego must strive. The Ego ideal is basically what the child’s parents approve of or value. The Conscience is the rules about what constitutes bad behavior. The Conscience is basically all those things that the child feels mum or dad will disapprove of or punish.
Superego too strong, feels guilty all the time, may even have an insufferably saintly personality

i think that wud be a great help..:)

I'm pretty sure it was Freud he wrote on "id" and the superego. He was basically saying that people in general are not in charge of their actions. That there is a large part of our brain that is primitive. And we are not conscious of it, called "id," kind of like impulses. This represents the majority of our psyche. The "ego" is a small portion that deals with reality and we are fully conscious of it. The "superego" is partly conscious and is our conscience. The philosophy was developed after WWI, thus it was probably influenced by it. Trench war fare and all. For further explanation you can go to a number of websites including either answers.com, or if you don't mind it, wikipedia. (It's pretty accurate.)

I'm not too sure what you mean with the numbers next to the terms. But you can find definitions for all of those, on dictionary.com as well as explanations through out the Internet. Just search it.

In very general terms:
ID = physical drive, factors that influence you on a physical level, including pleasure and pain
EGO = mental drive, moderates to seek balance between ID and SUPEREGO, mix of emotional and logical needs
SUPEREGO = spiritual drive, higher moral values. According to Wikipedia, the "Superego" is equated with the "conscience"

Literally:
Oral - refers to the mouth
Anal - refers to the anus
Phallic - refers to the penis
Genital - refers to the external organs

However, if you mean in psychological terms,
being "oral" can mean verbally-oriented, and
"anal" can mean a fixation with holding on to
things excessively (as in "anal-retentive").

I think the general theory is that during stages of development, if people have unresolved issues at certain stages, they may become "fixated" with that stage, whether oral, anal, etc., and associate their issue with that aspect.

If these terms are in your book, you need to stick to the material your teacher expects you to use. If you ask for people's opinions or use the Internet for different sources, that may not provide the answers your teacher requires for the class.
