Let's say the two sides would have a rap feud. And let's say all the NATIVE rappers from each side that were either killed or retired were alive and still rapping.(excluding Tupac, he's not a California native). Which side would win. I have my bet on LA because they had much more talented rappers down there and it is the birth of gangsta rap. Also, say if they had a gang war, who would win?

Just to make things clear, I'm basically saying. What if all the rappers from the each side(including the dead/retired ones) were to have a feud.

actually when you think about it, he's actually from new york. But what about the song "Live and Die in LA" I heard something that when Pac moved there and went into Death row, he had more love for LA than oakland.

i agree with you alittlejr. but snoop dogg is from long beach, not LA. and for the gang part, definately LA. they had cities like Compton(statistically the most dangerous city in Cali) and Watts. When the Bay Area only have Richmond and Oakland.

I would have to give the nod to the Bay Area.

To me, the best rappers in LA have been Ice Cube and Kurupt.

The best rappers in the Bay have been Too $hort and E-40.

So, those 2 would be a tie.
Ok, maybe LA would win cause W.C. is also tight, but the Bay has Keak Tha Sneak, Rappin 4-Tay, Mac Dre, Mac Mall, Spice 1, JT Tha Bigga Figga, B-Legit, etc...

LA has Snoop, Ice-T, Mack 10, Xzibit, The D.O.C., Above The Law, Game, Daz, DJ Quik, M.C. Ren, etc...

It would be close.

Nisha baby: tupac, b.i.g., rakim, talib kweli, jay-z, nas, wu tang clan, ll cool j, krs one, big pun, are some of the best rappers of all time..what do they all have in common? they are ALL from New York..Bay area did not make up the game, and NWA came before Tupac, so how did southern cal rappers get their game from the bay?

on to the question:
LA would win...they had snoop, eazy e, dr. dre, ice cube, and the game...even with tupac the bay wouldnt be able to contend with that

If they had a gang war LA would probably win because they have so many different gangs there.

Hmm, depends on what we're talking about I guess. Are we talking all MC's in the Bay and LA? Because I would think something like the Heiroglyphics vs Jurassic 5 would be interesting as hell to see in battle form (too bad that J5 is broken up). If we're speaking strictly on mainstream terms, then LA wins just because more stars have come from LA. But if it's just MC's vs MC's, then I would have to say that it would definitely be close, but I think that the Bay can win based on more than just gangsta rap (even though they might be able to hold their own in that area as well). It's all about versatility and diversity, and while LA has it, I don't think they display it as well as the Bay does.
