i read the book an the only good part was when she died. i can't bare to sit through it. did she die?

Yes.

It wouldn't be the same story if she didn't. And there's an annoying amount of foreshadowing throughout the movie.

However... I also hated the book, but the movie was surprisingly good.

have not seen the action picture, however the female dies interior the e book. interior the e book she drowns. i've got seen previews for the action picture and curiously way diverse than the e book. Which somewhat makes me mad because of the fact the e book is fairly good. I trust the 1st poster. in the event that they take out the section the place she dies i'm going to be slightly disillusioned.

I loved the book as a kid the movie sucked ! It was way too Disney- In the book the boys father was abusive and beat him. The "magical world" was stupid... It didn't connect at all with the characters....Very disappointed..

yes, it's really sad in the movie.
I haven't read the book but i'm sure it's even more dramatic in the book.

yea, she died in the movie! she died while tryin to cross the river on the rope, but the rope broke, and she drowned! tat was REALLY sad in the movie! ):
