I've had 3 babies and one more on the way. I love babycenter.com. They answer your question and more you may have very well. Best of luck!

They will do a physical exam. Weight, Height, blood pressure. They will do a pregnancy test to confirm the pregnancy. Then, they will do an internal exam where they check your cervix. When you are pregnant your cervix is tinted a grayish color and becomes softer. They will also do a pap smear. They will talk to you about what to expect and hopefully give you some resources on pregnancy as well. They will do blood work that checks for STDs and a complete blood count. They will either prescribe you a prenatal vitamin or tell you to purchase some. They may go over insurance costs and such and they will get a complete family medical history. Yours and the dads. They will discuss any problems or concerns with you. Make sure you have a list of any questions with you:) Good luck on everything and Congratulations. I remember those days, it was so exciting. BTW: They will not check for a prenatal heartbeat until around 11-13 weeks.

Well they may do your pap exam (if you have done that already this year) some blood work, pee in the cup thing, give you some prenatal vitamins, go over your insurance and costs (what is being covered) I think that's about it.

a lot of questions some poking and prodding and some measuring, they check the baby's heartbeat and may do ultrasound. you might have blood tests done or have to pee in a cup or both. they'll probably weigh you. and if your going to an australian hospitals antenatal clinic take a packed lunch and a book because it takes forever!
