Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* On the Journey to Open a New School: One Step at a Time by Brenda J. Travis
* Crash Course by Chris Whittle
* How to Market Your School : A guide to marketing, public relations, and communication for school administrators by Johanna M Lockhart

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

sure interior the state of Mississippi a 2 year degree is sufficient. I easily have a 2 year degree in Early formative years progression yet i don't have my very own center. I artwork at a community college and instruct Preschool for the Early formative years progression software.

Go to http://www.score.org/ to find the nearest SCORE chapter. In the upper left hand corner is a box to enter your zip code. Your nearest SCORE chapter will be on the next screen. Contact them to arrange for a free one on one meeting with a SCORE counselor about starting a pre-school.

SCORE is a nonprofit organization and is part of the Small Business Administration. They provide a public service by offering small business advice and training.

SCORE's 10,500 volunteers have more than 600 business skills. Volunteers share their wisdom and lessons learned in business. The volunteers are working/retired business owners, executives and corporate leaders.

I suggest that you go into the ones already in business that look up ot your standards. (yes lie) Tell them your interestered in a preschool for you child, and if they could tell you their procedures, and maybe give you a tour. A tad bit of cheating, but you can imporve yours after seeing theirs.
