A reason could be the subbers have a lot of projects in their hands. Also, that the popularity of the show does not demand them subbing right away. Another good reason is that they may have limited resources in their team like one translator and type setter.
There are many reasons why the subbers are behind. In my opinion they are doing this for free and just wait till they release it.

i don't know that particular show but an anime has to do well in japan before it comes to the US most of the time. no company is bringing a show that flopped in japan to other countries so they start subbing/dubbing after it's already been out for a little while. inuyasha was around 2 yrs or more before we saw episode 1 stateside.
