Okay, I'm nto going to give you a humungous list, but I do listen to a LOT of independant british rock, and new rave, and if youre trying to find something you might like, the most obvious thing to start with is something like Arctic Monkeys, or Franz Ferdinand, that have made it to the top of the mainstream charts, in their time. If you like, go ahead to Dirty Pretty Things, The Libertines, Little Man Tate, Milburn and The View. If you find thats not your thing, try The Gossip and The Zutons, The White Stripes, We Are Scientists. If you want something harder - Action Action and The Cooper Temple Clause are good starters.
Or, you can be like me, and listen to, and love, all of em.
