Think about the base angles of an isosceles triangle. There are two of them and they are exactly the same. Since the sum of all three angles in a triangle is 180 degrees, then neither base angle could be more than (or equal to) 90 degrees (otherwise, you'd add them up and get 180 or more -- leaving no "degrees" left for the remaining angle). Therefore, the base angles must be acute. The exterior angle measure is just 180 degrees minus the angle measure. 180 minus a number between (but not including) 0 and 90 is always greater than 90. Therefore, the answer is:
