it is full to the line for oil..it mowed the lawn 5 days ago..it's a one year old yardman with a 6.25 motor..push mower,composter.
I turned it over and unhooked the spark plug and tried turning the blade by hand..it turned but turned hard. I am not sure what to do..it won't turn using the cord..

It could several things.

#1 Remove the top cover of the fly wheel and make sure there is no not in the rope.

#2 The piston might have broken. (bad, but fixable if you know much about motors.

#3 Does the gas requrie oil mixture?

You have to hold the bale under the handle to turn the engine over. It could be that the engine brake cable came undone. You should be able to see where the brake cable hooks to the engine. You could take the engine cowling off and see what is holding it from turning. There could be something stuck in there.

Are you pulling the flywheel brake back to release the flywheel?
