Honey, there is nothing you can do. If there ever becomes a way to force the menstrual cycle, someone is going to make a fortune! Traveling with your period is no big deal, so long as you can get to a restroom every couple of hours. When you get to your hotel, soak in the bathtub for a while, and take ibuprofen for the pain. You'll be okay.

You should not try anything to make your period early or late. Do not try any home remedies that people give you on here. You may end up doing something that could really cause your cycle to get screwed up. Just let nature take its course. You can use tampons if you are going swimming on vacation. Just keep you a supply of products in your purse for the bathroom stops you make along the way. Did I understand you right? Your mom doesn't even know that you have your period? This is something you really should discuss with her. Have fun on vacation.

there is nothing that you can do to make it come sooner or not come at all. also are you regulated, as in do you always have your period on the same date and its always on time? If not then there is a small chance that it will come late or on time naturally. Just tell your mom whats going on and just be prepared. Be sure to have lots of tampons and pads and some pamprin or mydol for the pain. Also dont stress about it because that could make it come sooner, later, or be heavier, lighter, or make it last longer.

Well, birth control is often used to "control periods" (that is, make the "period" shorter and less painful and also, put it off until things are more convenient.)
Birth control isn't just used as a contraceptive. I mean, I got prescribed it for my polycystic ovary syndrome, and for a few years, I had to pay for it out-of-pocket because even though I was taking it for the hormonal benefit, the insurance company said it was for birth control.
Which is totally unfair. I mean, even if I DID use it for birth control, it should have been covered, but I was using it as treatment for a medical condition. Totally prejudiced!
Sooooo...getting back to your question, there's nothing you can do if you're not willing to take hormones. Take some tampons--junior size if your flow is light.
As far as them not knowing--you're thirteen. They wouldn't be surprised, especially if your mom got her first period around your age. Girls tend to have menarche around the same time as their mothers.
Take some ibuprofen/naproxen sodium for cramping/backaches if it's medically OK for you (acetaminophen doesn't stop cramping, so I don't see the point in taking it. Plus it doesn't stop my headaches. The stuff is worthless.) Exercise--sounds wacky, but it can help, especially yoga stretches.
And consider telling somebody in the family--yeah, it's a little weird, but if you do, it could explain a lot to them, maybe make it easier for you.

Not anything you can do except take advantage of your bathroom breaks. Also you can use a tampon AND a super pad for extra protection. If you don't use tampons, use a couple of super plus pads for added protection. Might want to bring a change of shorts or pants in case you have to change. Bring a sweater you can tie around your waist in case of an accident, you'll be able to walk to the bathroom, covered up until you can change and clean up. Bring some wipes in case you need to clean up. Might want to sit on a towel in the car if you're really worried. Hope this helps!

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to make it come sooner. I know how uncomfortable it is, but you'll just have to deal with it for the duration of your vacation. Just try to focus on the fun you'll be having and not on your period. If you stress over it then you'll have no fun. It's an unfortunate part of being a woman. Hope you have fun on your vacation.

you should tell your mom that you have it that would help it might be uncomfortable telling her but you should tell. For the car trips take Advil for your cramps and if you are siting in a car for a long period of time i would say use a tampon it would be easier then pads. i don't think you could make it come any soon then it is going to happen.

Period are caused by drops in body chemicals called hormones, like estrogen and progesterone. Without using birth control, there is no way to keep these levels of these hormones high and therfore skip a period.

unfortunately besides taking birth control there is no way of manipulating your period. If you feel uncomfortable talk to a close female family member about possible using tampons. which might make it less obvious and weird for you.
