I don't understand, I think they are good artists, he "claims" to love rock (any kind) so why is he ragging on me?

He likes Slip Knot (oops if I spelled it wrong) and that screamo genre. I know I have Hawthorne Heights, but their not 100% screamo, and random music.

It's probably because some of the music you have is against his own interest/likes and dislikes, like maybe he doesn't like some artists that you like... which makes it embarrassing for him. But as long as you think those artists and the music in your iPod aren't embarrassing and you like it..then what's there to be embarrassed of...after all its your own interests...

When I grew up in the late 90's, I used to be the biggest fan of the Spice Girls and NSYNC. I didn't have Justin Timberlake posters or anything like that, but I did have the replica Barbie-type dolls they sold for each member of NSYNC. About the Spice Girls... I had posters and I loved the movie, "Spice World," so much I would watch millions of times... I was the biggest fan of both of them. XD

Those are all pretty good bands. I was thrilled to see Elvis Costello on the list. He's one of my favorites. U2 as well, and Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, The Clash...
I think you're brother is a tosser who lets those assholes on MTV tell him what's cool. He's been brainwashed and probably likes "Bowling for Soup." Pray for him.

How can he be embarrassed by your music? You're the one who listens to it. I think he's probably using the wrong word because "embarrassing" doesn't make sense. Ask him what he means by the word and let us know what he says.

He was probably raised in the "no-talent-rap-generation". People like him don't understand music when it has more than three chords and there isn't a video that goes along with it.
