Why do parents let their pre-teen daughters dress like sluts?

Parents lost control of their children long ago and that loss happened when the law stepped in and said that they can no longer discipline their children or the parents can be arrested. The worst idea I heard was making the parents go to jail if their children don't go to school. With times being as tough as they are today and the need for both parents to go to work or lose everything they own there is not enough time drop off and pick up their children at school. Now that children know that their parents can be arrested children only need to keep skipping school to get their parents in serious trouble instead of themselves so who do you think wins in that situation? So if the girls want to dress up like little tramps who can stop them? Yes it's unfortunate that their are perverts out there in the world that will enjoy looking at these girls, but unless the law puts the power back in the hands of the parents where it should have been to begin with I see little that can be done and that is truly a shame.

Because the parents think that their teens won't go and have sex. The people who make the slut clothing for teen girls are running a business and the best way to make money is to advertise to young girls who are too immature to understand the consequences of dressing like bad girls. Children don't get morals in school or in society because both their parents are at work so the kids never see their parents at all and the parents spend to much time being their kids' friends instead of the parents like they should be doing.

I think we should all move into a community together. LOL. I see and make comments about this all the time! There is actually two girls I used to babysit for awhile, always wearing and acting inappropiately. But when the mother found out the were running around with older guys the statutory rape hype got brought into it. What do these mothers think is gonna happen when their baby girls look like 20 year old hookers? Hello! If they dress like it I would assume they are trying to play the role also. Whats wrong with people. Sheesh!

More than likely the parents could careless. Which is ashame. Anyway girlz should have the sense enough to dress like their mama or daddy raised them with sum class. Cuz if anyone in my family did that......lets just say all heck would break loose. No gurl is a slut. They just get too...into boyz if u know what i mean. Tho if the gurl couldnt care about herself then so be it....i wouldnt worry about it. Let them be slutz if they wanna be. You cant change sumbody. Just show them the other side. Its their choice to wanna come and act like a normal person. I hope gurlz will act a lil better the older they get.

To answer the first question parents let their children dress how they they want because A) they can't control everything and trying to control little things in their childrens lives makes things worse B) Many parents fight with children about what they choose to wear and don't approve but they do anyway.

I think you asked the wrong question. It shoul dhave been :"Why do pre-teen daughters choose to dress like sluts?" because the parents don't dictate what their children wear.

Clothing companies make that type of clothing because it is in-style and makes money.

As for societies morals there are few. I think our culture has sucked the passion that made many great things out of nearly all of them. Music is no longer a way to channel intense feeling, movies success is not based on how brilliant it is but on how much it sells and clothing is no longer about coving your body. It is about style and what happens to be popular at the time (not to mention that the majority of american clothing is mad ein chinese sweat shops.)

OMG you sound like me. I wish I knew the answer to this. But I can assure you my daughter will not dress like a slut. Times have changed since we were kids and we all just have to deal with it and make smart decisions about what our babies wear. My daughter is 10 but her clothes are for 10 year olds. I am so there with you and your frustration. Our society sucks and I can't stand it either.

Because people have given into a societies ideology of how a women should express her beauty and show it off to others. Unfortunately sometimes the parents enforce this action because either they are doing the same behavior or they simply sometimes might not know. Fact is, We shouldn't let society dictate a woman's beauty. Beauty unfortunately is sometimes nudity and more nudity. It's sad.

I have a 12 yr old that likes to dress like a clubber. I don't let her go out in public and she does get the "change your clothes now" look at home. She is slowly growing out of that phase. Kids just want to grow up too quickly. Peer pressure stinks. I have to really watch the kids she associates with at school. Church is a plus.

Parents are afraid to "Parent" their children. Parents are trying to be their child's friend. Parents need to be parents first, and friends second. So what if your daughter gets mad, so what. Years from now, she will thank you. As parents, we have to be willing to go the distance in the ring with our children whatever it takes. Saying no is a beginning. You don't have to say no to everything, but do establish some limits. A child without limits will certainly cause their parents many sleepness nights and heartache. As parents we need not be afraid of our kids hating us. If we are loving, nurturing, providing for their physical needs (food, clothing, shelter) then we have the right to decide what they should wear.
We need to ask God for help in raising our children.

You know a lot of people don't have morals. I don't know why but parents should know that their children represent them and when they walk out the house with those kind of clothes on it makes others wonder what their mother wears. Most pre-teen daughters that wear those kind of clothes have no help with picking out clothes, don't know anything about style, or is getting ideas from people they don't need to get ideas from.
