Well, it depends what kind of rod and gear you're using. For those who prefer fly-fishing or spin-casting with a light rod, a decent-sized net should be sufficient (depending on how much of a fighter the broad is). Larger broads (when deep-sea fishing, for instance) may need to be gently gaffed or netted with a purse seine to be successfully landed. You might also want to consider the bait you're using if you're having little success.

You have to take your biggest mammoth cosh and put on your best leopardskin leotard, then head to the watering hole where the broads are washing their clothes on the stones, grab the one you like by the hair and drag her to your cave. This is a tried-and-tested method. Cuts out the in-laws too.
