i've always wanted to know why spiders die after they make their egg sack

"The males of most species do not live long after mating because their goal has been reached and their purpose fulfilled. Females often live longer than males. Some females die after the eggs have hatched and some females are even eaten by their offspring. Others may live on for years."

Claire's got the information right. The 'why' is basically that once the eggs are laid (assuming that they do not need the mother to defend them or to protect and teach the young) the mother's life work is done. Not all spiders and not all other organisms are one-year, one-shot breeders, though. Some may live several years and produce multiple egg loads, but then they can't put all their disposable energy into each single egg sac if they have to survive longer. It's a trade-off - longer life and more eggs (potentially) instead of a better load of eggs right now.

IT DEPENDS ON THE SPECIES for example the aracnea Anus lives for at least 6months,in this time they will lay at least 5 more time,ensuring survival of the species.
