Much of my work is to small for a circular saw. I have a few old hand saws that were my fathers, but they need sharpening...Help???

Step one is to make sure all the teeth are the same height,
then set the teeth, then file then 5 to 15 deg depending on the saw (smooth, cross cut or rip)

You need a set-point and a die for this. It's pretty hard to do it by hand, my father used to but it takes a lot of practice without ruining the blade. Practice on used blades first or take them to someone that knows what they're doing.

A point set, and triangle file, O and practise.
