I have since disabled the site. Should I be worried about a lawsuit ? How can anyone tell what is on your computer?

Don't worry about it. Millions upon millions of people download daily. Most people sued by the RIAA are people making files available (sharing them out), not people downloading them. The chances of getting caught are far less than Hollywood stopping a stop sign in the middle of nowhere.

There is a site that has a guide to downloading sites and they say that they are all legal. Some are free and some have free trials. When I was looking it said it includes reveiws which were helpful to me when I was trying to decide. Happy downloading!

As long as your son no longer downloads music it should be fine. Chances of being sued by RIAA are about 1 in 100,000. So you have very little to worry about.

i guess i wldnt broadcast it like the person above said- and they are starting to crack down on people stealing music, but it all depends on how much music was downloaded...is it hundreds? thousands? just a couple? i wouldnt worry too much about it seriously. there are bigger things to worry about than stealing music!

"Your Son" needs to be told that piracy does not pay and "you" don't need to be worried about being sued as long as you delete any copies of those music files along with any other copies of burned or transfered files. If "your son" loves his artists ask "him" to buy their music instead of "pirate it"

i would think you have nothing to worry about unless he has been selling the music or sharing it with someone else.
