The Pentium is a their mobile (for laptops) processor. The Pentium 4 is designed for desktop computers, although there are mobile versions of this too. The Pentium M is the more efficient of the two processors and will outperform the P4. Of course both are discontinued now, replaced by the Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Duo M.

Pentium M (Dothan/Yonah core) is fast and efficient (low wattage). Pentium 4, mobile P4 (Northwood/Prescott) only have fast clocks but not as efficient as Pentium M. The very NEW Pentium E2160 and E2140 are great because they are now based on the latest Core2 Duo technology.

particular middle 2 Duo 2.4GHz middle 2 Duo. in many procedures middle 2 is comparable to middle: The chips are equipped using the same production technique and slot interior the same sockets as middle Duo chips. putting aside middle 2 intense (a posh version of the middle 2 Duo), you will not see many spec variations: the two chips have the same frontside bus speed of 667MHz, yet middle 2 Duo is now available at quite speedier clock speeds (as I write this, 2.67GHz chips are available). The frontside bus communicates between the CPU and RAM (and different factors), and it particularly is a infamous overall performance bottleneck for computers. The middle 2 additionally has the same L2 cache that the middle has. although, there are shape variations to the silicon that supply the middle 2 extra state-of-the-paintings processing skills. the two chips exist in laptop and laptop variations.
