Friend going "emo"?

Ok, i have a friend from conneticut who is allegedly going "emo". What should I do about this? Somebody explain to me what emo is!!!!!!

Emo is kind of the new "goth." A lot of the kids who feel disillusioned and/or ostracized go this way. It's not something you have to do something about. It's not exactly a bad thing to go "emo." Emo music consists of a lot of the pop-punk that's out today like My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds to Mars, Fall-out Boy, etc. Just embrace your friend for who they are.

Nothing to worry about. There's two definitions of Emo. One is an emotional state (that's not good) Two is a clothing style (That's kinda cool)

Being called Emo under the first definition is when the person is depressed and usually self harms themself. So yeah, not good... if your friend is emo under this definition, then talk him or her through it and encourage them to go to counseling and such.

Being Emo under the second term is just a style. Tight pants, cute little rimmed glasses, band T-Shirts, usually dressed in dark colors, and little bracelets and stuff. Nothing wrong with it. Kinda a cool style if you ask me. If your friend just dresses emo, then don't even worry about it. Still love and accept him/her no matter what they wear.

Well this is a cry for help. Do you know if he's going thru depression? That's a new teen style these days whenever ur depressed and praise rock music.

Now if he's doing it for STYLE- ignore him. Trust me Emo is not a style, is who u are. I have ALOT of friends who's in it for style. Im going thru depression and I dont have to be emo. If he's in Conneticut and far away from there's nothing much u can do about it. Sorry.

emo as your friend is turning into has nothign toi do with the roots of emo and is a very very bad thing. emo today is a fad. most of these rmo kids aren't really depressed and have no reason to be, they just think its cool to whine about how horrib;e their life is and make themselves depressed. and if they are llistening to the music stop them while tyou can because again todays emo is gay. and in a literal kind of way too. but seriously emo is just about the most annoying fad yet to come. so if they aren't becoming emo like the originals but like the new gay emo stop them at all costs

look emo up online because emo can be a way of dress, hairstyles, attitude, makeup, music...
if she is "going emo" its either just a phase that'll pass or she's depressed and needs somewhere to turn. if its the second thing then step in and let her know you're there for her.

Emo are usually quiet people that like staying to themselves. Some say they are a cheap version of goth. Emo is not emotional and they dont cut if they do they are posers and need to seek psychiatric help immediately. there is nothing wrong with being Emo. Emos express their feelings through poetry and writing. they do have a sense of humor. they are also known to sometimes be hopeless romantics. they have there own personal style and may have bangs that hang in their eyes. eyeliner is worn by male and female.

Emo in teenagers generation is a boy or girl who is not happy with themselves. They do not have any real "beliefs" (they don't really know what to think..it's hard to explain" They might wear certain clothing and listen to certain music, and act a certain way. Not all cut...but if you see someone like this at school be nice...
