in episode 41 of the bleach anime when ichigo appears to save rukia ganju and hanataro Jushiro Ukitake seems surprised to see him and says who is that to byakuya who says no relation, at least to the person you are thinking of

He is reffering to Kaien. Kaien is a guy rukia wuz in love with. He was assistant capatain of the rukia's squad and rukia befriended him. But he was married. In the end there was a hollow that took over Kaien. Rukia had only one choice, to KILL HIM! It wuz so sad. Kaien wuz also Gangu's brother. That is why gangu hates rukia. he blames rukia for his brother Kaien's death. There is an episode about this later it made me cry. Oh yeah and rukia could not help kill the hollow attacking them because kaien was fighting for his honor just like ichigo was fighting for his honor in the 9th episode. and ichigo looks exactly like kaien. Exept ichigo has orange hair and kaien has black. and ichigo looks way better than him.

I am not sure how far you have watched the series, but I can say that that question was never solved. It could be Kaien as mentioned before. This is a major spoiler, but you would know what I am saying if you watched the newer episodes. The other option could be someone related to Ichigo who has a secret. I am not going to say anything more if you have not watched those episodes yet.

Byakuya is referring to Ukitake's old vice captain: Kaien Shiba. Rukia killed him because he is possesed by a hollow and that is the only way to save him. Ichigo and that vice captain have a different hair color.
