Best Astro pitcher was Nolan Ryan. Best position player was Jeff Bagwell, with Biggio a close second.

I think that honor would have to go to Craig Biggio. Nolan Ryan was obviously a better player, but his greatest years were spent elsewhere. Jeff Bagwell is another option, but injury problems plagued him too much, and he hasn't had the longevity that Biggio has. Mike Scott probably had the best season an Astro ever had with that monster 1986 season where he went 18-10, 2.22 ERA, 306 K, and a monster 0.923 WHIP. That's one heckuva season.

I would have to go with Nolan Ryan. He spent 8 years the Astros and had a blistering fastball that averaged 100 miles per hour and a great work ethic like none other.

Nolan Ryan. It may have been J.R. Richard if not for that tragic stroke. He was on his way. Bags and biggio deserve a lot of respect and did a lot for the franchise but Ryan was just about the best there has ever been in history. With better teams his win total would be outright gaudy. No doubt in my mind it's Ryan.

bidge or bagwell
I honestly i think that bagwell was the best, hitting 449 homers with an average near .300 over 15 seasons, and being an amazing fielder
bidge is great also, hitting 280+ homers, 3000 hits, .282 average, very durable
best = bagwell
favorite = biggio
even though bagwell was amazing

I'll take Bagwell first, for "best Astros career".
Best player ever to wear the shooting star is Clemens.

I would say Nolan Ryan. He was a great pitcher on some very bad teams. If he had some run support, he would have had way more wins.

J.R. Richard.
No, just kidding. I hate to say this, but I think you have to give the nod to Nolan Ryan over Biggio and Bags.
Ryan was a great strikeout pitcher but he had control problems and I think he was overrated.
