Putting some of the serious answers together: Erections occur because you have higher testosterone levels in the morning and the final dream cycle. You have erections everytime you go into REM cycles, lighter sleep times during the night right up to the time you are about to wake up. In the morning coincidently your bladder has been filling for 7, 8, or 10 hours. Bladder pressure adds to the power of the hormonal excess and of the erotic dreams, hence a massive erection. It will not go down until you masturbate, have intercourse, or pee. Trying to pee may be difficult (especially into the toilet) or may not be possible at all. So take a shower, your penis will begin to soften, and you will take a wonderful piss against the wall. And if you are in middle school or high school you will be blessed with other spontaneous erections throughout the day.

For me, it's usually that I have to urinate (SummerB's got it right... smart girl to know so much about male equipment!) I lay on my stomach a lot too, so sometimes just the pressure of the weight of my body will cause an erection.

In my case, morning erections are almost rarely sexually stimulated, but on occasion, after a realllly nice dream it can certainly happen then as well.

When you sleep, you have sleep cycles. The one called REM, thats rapid eye movement is when you are most likely to dream and usually occurs right before you wake up. Well this increases bllod flow and in guys causes a *****. Especially if it was a dream of a sexual nature. Every guy gets em. but thats why it happens.

While you're sleeping, you get several "hard-ons" through out the night. It's your bodies way of checking everything and making sure that everything works. It's completely normal and happens to just about everyone.

have faith it or not, all men have random erections, back and back, while they're napping. medical doctors do sleep examine to work out how many circumstances you get an erection for the period of the night to evaluate in case you have erectile affliction. from time to time, counting on once you awaken, you will awaken with an erection. have been you to rouse in the previous or later, you won't have one. that is actual- i've got altered the time that I awaken from time to time, and, counting on what time I wakened, I the two had it, or i did not.

1) Needing to urinate upon waking up, & 2) the sex hormone testosterone peaks in the morning...causing erections.

Several time through the night you get an erection. Sometimes you wake up and it's still there. No biggie.
