What's a good song to play in remembrance of a man who lived his whole life working hard on a farm, raised a family (although was not very loving towards them), a real rough and tough guy who lived to the age of 73 and left behind a family who loved him very much. Any suggestions are welcome.

That depends on how you want to use the music...

Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble's instrumental version of "Little Wing" is a good choice for background music. However, his favorite songs and artists would be much more personal for the family.

My condolences to the entire family.

How about "Daddy's Hands"? I don't remember the singer, but some of the lyrics are:
Daddy's hands were soft and warm when I was crying
Daddy's hands were hard as steel when I'd done wrong
...
Daddy's hands weren't always gentle
But I've come to understand
There was always love in Daddy's hands

(as near as I can remember). Hope that helps.
