I bought a second dell xps computer for another room, so my husband I can each have our own. The belkin wireless adapter is supposed to work up to 400 feet away. This one is only 10 ft. away. I called tech. support and they were no help at all. Has anyone else out there had trouble or luck with wireless adapters and if so, what did they do? are some better than others? and isn't that the point of wireless, so you can be in another room with your computer. I am very frustrated with this.

Belkin is a cheaper brand but it should be working...
I prefer Linksys as stated above... I have wireless B/G for about 150 feet outside of my home... i did not make it 10 feet away from the router with the belkin products I have used.

I've never had any luck with belkin, I switched to Linksys (a blue/purple color) it's been pretty good, occasionally I have to unplug the router and plug it back in to refresh it, but that's about the extent of my problems.

Maybe you have a 2.4Ghz cordless phone at home and it is interfering w/ your 2.4Ghz wifi. Try the lowest and highest wifi channels. You might be able to minimize the interference.
