Sasha was spayed at 12 months before I knew the adverse affects (bone cancer, behavioral problems, weight gain, etc.). I just thank God that I didn't get it done earlier. Her recovery took a while. About 10 days. Chopper was neutered at around 8 weeks, by the shelter. I think it only took him a day or two to get over it. Now he has extremely thin, weak bones and is rather feminine. The younger, the quicker they recover from surgery, maybe. However, the younger it's done, the worse the LONG-term side effects will be. I just wish I could have researched the problems that the money hungry vets conveniently leave out, before I got Sasha spayed. Just because you leave a dog intact doesn't mean you're gonna have a breeding dog.

You don't need good luck. You are in good hands, otherwise you wouldn't be doing the surgery. But, because you asked, "The best of luck for a uneventful surgery and quick and happy recovery!"

Don't know what the surgery is for but good luck and I am sure you will pull through. You should read a book so you don't think about it too much =-).
