Who do you think are the 5 best pitchers of all time?
i think
5. Dwight Gooden
4. Warren Spahn
3. Bob Gibson
2. Sandy Koufax
1. Satchel Paige
I didn't put the players from close to the 1900s because its not fair to compare their stats when they pitched EVERYDAY! Opposed to the average 1/4 or 1/5 Days. I don't think Cy Young should have gotten an award named after him, not taking away his sucess, but the fact he has the most wins and losses in a career, and that no1 will catch him is unfair, i think it should be the Warren Spahn award possibly, and I think Nolan Ryan is overrated.
Aside from that who are your top 5 best pitchers of all time.

I'm not sure about your #5.
I think you need to add Roger Clemens.
Nice call with your #1.

Cy Young is the greatest ever. Period. No one comes close to him in greatness. He got the award named after him in 1955 when he died and Warren Spahn had yet to retire. I do agree with you on Nolan Ryan. A good pitcher but very overrated.

If you say "All-time," then you have to allow for pitchers from different eras. Bob Gibson didn't pitch in the same era as did Dwight Gooden, but you have them on the same list.
I would definitely have Roger Clemens ahead of pretty much everyone on your list. I don't think Gooden lasted long enough to make the top 5. Clemens, Gibson, Tom Seaver, Walter Johnson, Christy Mathewson

First of all, Dwight Gooden doesn't belong in the top 5. He's not even top 10.
Second, I'm amazed that no one has mentioned Pedro Martinez. He was more dominant in a hitters era than any pitcher in history. My top 5, in no particular order, are:
Pedro Martinez
Roger Clemens
Sandy Koufax
Nolan Ryan
Cy Young or Walter Johnson (tie)
