People answering q's on Yahoo Answers represent such a teeny tiny bit of the world.
To gain some perspective, SA Spurs team merchandise are the *ninth* best selling stuff on nba.com which represents in store sales and online sales.
Since there are 30 NBA teams, there are 21 teams that the world 'hates' more than the SA Spurs. :)
Apparently it's good to be a Spurs fan.

I don't think so. Kobe alone generates more hate than the entire Spurs team.
What's a fact though is that many dislike the Spurs, not because of anything negative but because of the fact that they are winners, plain and simple.
To win an NBA Title, you have to crush the title hopes of other teams, and their fans, along the way and the Spurs have been very good at doing that over the past decade.
You don't hear about fans griping about the Grizzlies or Hawks, thats because they don't win anything.
To all Spurs-haters out there, grow up. Its not the Spurs fault that your teams are not winning. Blame them not the winners.

First of all, there is an unbalance of internet users. Majority of the people who ever take any online polls come from California and Arizona. And considering that majority of the Suns fan hate the Spurs and all the ignorant Kobe fans hate the Spurs too, the Spurs are doing quite well in other places around the world.
Note: not all Kobe fans are ignorant. But the ignorant Kobe fans even think Jordan is overrated and Kobe is the best ever. So that's why they hate the Spurs.
And I'm a Suns fan who love the Spurs and I am also tired of all the ignorant Suns fans too.

Wheather you like the spurs or not they have dominated this decade. They seem to only win in odd years. They got lucky through out these playoff. Dallas gets kicked out early the only team with any chance of beating them. Then there was that Suns problem with 2 important player out. Spurs played Jazz for the Western conference who are atleast 3 years and several pieces away from being taken seriously. Then the pistons, the only team in the east with any chance of beating the spurs decides to start phoning in their games and the Spurs play the Cavs, I mean they play Lebron. It was not 5on5, It was 5 on 1. I dont see them getting this lucky again. I dont see them beating the suns and the Mavs.
They still are a great team and I have a lot of respect for them coz they are such a professional organisation.
Now tell me this, we are always complaining that there is too much drama in sports, too many players are thugs, or are in to crime, too many are selfish, are too flashy etc and now that we have a team that is not boastfull, doesnt thump their chest, doesnt get in to trouble on or off the court, is not flashy and is all substance, is selfless and team oriented etc we complain that they are too boring.
I'm sorry but I'd take a team like the spurs who are good models for kids over a team like the nuggets with player who take out their frustrations on the court by slapping people.

I've seen people wearing Spurs teeshirts and jerseys in every state in this country and around the world. I also think people make more noise when they're upset than they do when they're happy (read Suns fans). Therefore, I think the number of Spurs haters vs. fans on Y!A is disproportionate to the numbers in the real world, hence irrelevant. I also think you're from either Arizona, Utah, or Ohio.

Not so much "hate them" as much as just annoyed with them. Can't stand the team. Gotta respect them because they are so solid everywhere, and Tim Duncan is really a great ball player, but I just can't stand them.
Maybe it's the Nugget fan in me, but I would have rather had to play Phoenix this year in the 1st round than the Spurs, but in the end it wouldn't have mattered cause they were just too good when it mattered for anyone this year, and that for some reason just makes me ill.

I really don't think that people hate the Spurs, the thing is that those guys are pretty much like the New England Patriots.......no fun to watch but at the end when they are in the playoffs you will realize how damn good they are.
Most Likely the only people who like the Spurs are the people from San Antonio.

ummmm, i think that everyone, including the spurs, will agree that they are pretty boring to watch. but at the end of the day, they are the most complete team in the league. the best power forward ever, along with all-star guards and great veterans. i have a feeling that this spurs team might just win it again next year. but they might still be the most boring team to watch!
another reason that people dont like the spurs is cuz they just seem to beat every single team in the league. and when a fan's team loses, he normally doesnt like the team that made them lose! but this spurs team has the total package, offense and defense, and there is no team in the world that can beat them. thats why the are the WORLD CHAMPS BABY!

I don't think so. Spurs has also fans in other countries. They are a complete team that makes them tough and great. They may be boring but you should like them if you like good basketball.
