The simplest way to do this is to use a program LIKE fraps but NOT fraps...(fraps doesnt have any encoding so videos end up HUGE!) get a program called ZDsoft Game Recorder which is an BRILLIANT program as it doesnt lag down your game and has realtime encoding so your videos dont take up hundreds of megabytes like FRAPS does

yes, look for "video capture" but 3 things are gonna pop-up:
1. video capture hardware (for importing from cameras, tv, etc into pc)
2. video capture for tutorials/demonstrations more than gaming, Adobe (formerly macromedia) has one that creates flash movies of what you do on pc. pretty sure it might not work for games.
3. FRAPS <- this is what you're looking for. Although it might lag your game if you don't have a powerfull PC.

If fraps lags you too much you can either lower the graphic specs on the game or lower the recording quality on fraps.

Another option would require 2 computers a video card with TV-out capabilities, and video capture hardware. That way your game is unlagged since the 2nd computer would be capturing the video (through a video capture device).

I am not aware of any "video capture program" that will make a video of the computer video.

If there was such a thing, I would think that everybody would be using it to record video on demand movies to a permanent video file.

Now there are "video capture cards" that will record any video source and you could connect the video output of your video card. Plus, this wouldn't drag down your computer resources - it does the video encoding in hardware. Look into the "Pinacle" video encoder boxes.
