Why would my radio be constant static wherever I am? Would the problem be the antenna or the radio? 98 Malibu?

If you're getting nothing but static, even on the very strongest stations, then it's probably the radio and not the antenna.


There's a junction in the factory antenna cable that sometimes comes loose. It's located in the passenger kick area, which is the panel to the right of the passenger's feet. Look under the carpet there and you should find the spot where two different cables are joined. Make sure the plugs are tightly joined.

Probably your antenna. Wrap it in aluminium foil and paperclips.
