mostly stainless steel , or brass , they were /are made by convicts on death row their initials are stamped on the bottem of the zippos thats why they are collectable

it depends but your average one has chrome plating with a brass shell (if you wear the polish off this is easily visable), I'm not totaly sure what the rest is made of

If you mean the exterior, most traditional ones are chrome plated brass.

they can be made of bronze-silver-gold or just plain metal
