Seattle gets considerably less rain than many cities, such as New York; however, Seattle is cloudy a lot more than most cities. This is due to the proximity to both the Pacific Ocean and the Cascade Mountains. The moisture-laden air from the Pacific is pushed against the Cascades; as it is forced upward, it expands and cools, and as a result, it can't hold as much water. The water condenses out, and falls as rain.
It could be worse; the Olympic mountains on the Olympic peninsula get the humid air first, and get a LOT more rain than Seattle; the peninsula is home to the only temperate rain forest in the U.S., as a result.

It would not rain anymore in Seattle then different places as much as now as complete rainfall. yet there are a number of extra days of rain in Seattle. which skill it could rain lots at some point in Houston, yet be sunny the different 6 days. whilst in Seattle it is going to drizzle slightly 6 days and be cloudy the seventh. So sure, this is overcast/wet for about 10 months a 300 and sixty 5 days.

I live just across the border in Vancouver, and right after that day where it got really hot/humid (June 3rd to be exact)--it started getting cloudy, then rainy and there have been overcast/rainy weather dominating the skies for the past 2 weeks... But right now here in Vancouver, the sky has cleared around 7pm. Perhaps today is the turning point?

Where have you been? In a shower stall? Here in the Seattle area there has been some gorgeous weather in the past two weeks.
I am tired of people griping about the Seattle rain when it actually rains no more here than on the east coast.

Because it is a marine climate and the Cascade mountains force all the moisture out of the clouds dumping it in Western Washington.
