That's because we are too blind to see the things that are right in front of our face as we are always looking further ahead and looking at the bigger picture instead of taking the time to look at every aspect of the picture which includes the small things as well as the big things.

Well considering our brains tend to swallow up everything we see, we may be seeing things but exactly registering it. It's kinda like subliminal messaging.... you see it, but you don't. Not until you start looking for, not until you tell your brain to start looking for it.
Or if it's not... materialistic.... well.. that just because you've probably taken that something for granted... or you just got so used to it, the way it came into your life that you don't register it as a specific thing in your life but actually part of your life....

As they say we can't see the forest fo the trees.
We tend to look at just on thing instead of the whole picture.

We feel there has to be something better "out there" instead of seeing what is right here. Everyone thinks they already know what is here and need to look elsewhere.

we are blinded by the things that we think we want to what we really want. society plays a big part in giving us ideas of who we are or what we think, when in reality, sometimes we just need to take a step back and really think about it, which we rarely do

Sometimes the very things were looking for is the one thing we can't see...even if it is right under our noses.
