I'm fourteen & I just found out that my dad, who's a retired college professor, might have to sell his house since he's getting a lot less money now. I don't know the details, but I do know that he's having a lot of money problems with the mortage, bank, & bills. He doesn't want me to worry about it & I know he's right, but I really just want to find a way to make some money to help. I know I'm only fourteen but I can't stand just sitting here wasting the summer time when my dad is suffering. How can I help & earn some extra money for him?? :/ Thanks for any ideas/advice.

For one you should be proud of yourself for having this kind of attitude, and I think your father is proud of you to. Check with friends and neighbors, washing cars, cleaning, babysitting cutting grass are all things that you can offer to do and make a few bucks. Again GOD bless you for being the responsible caring child that you are, Hope all works out

Housecleaning for others is a good way to make some good money. Start by asking a family member or friend and before you know it the word will get out, especially if you are good at it. It's great money and people really appreciate it too...you sound like a great kid. It's hard for parents to accept money from their children so don't be offended it your dad declines your help. You may be able to help by going to buy some groceries and also take some stress off of him by cooking them as well. You sound too young to be worried as you are but you also sound mature enough to understand that it's upsetting your father. A couple of cleaning jobs per week would help get grocery money and also give yourself some money for spending which would also help him in the long run. Good luck sweetie and if you need any tips on starting a little cleaning service for yourself feel free to email me. I used to clean houses and then ended up with a nice little business until I just couldn't physically do it anymore.

I have a friend who lost her job and couldnt find one right away. She needed money really bad to pay the rent. One day after church she started asking her friendsand family members if she could clean their houses for 40$ and everyone said yes. Now thats all she does she cleans about 2 houses a day and makes 80$ a day and over 400 a week. Once they see how well you did they will recommend you to someone else. Once you make extra money you can put some money aside for your dad (keep cleaning houses) but also invest in making inexpensive arts and crafts use your talent to make money. There's a lot of cool websites that show you how to sell and make money making crafts.

A really easy way to make money online is to join GPT sites. GPT sites pay you to take surveys and do free trials. The minimum age requirement for most of these sites is 13 - so that would be perfect for you. I remember when I first starting doing GPT's, I made about $70 within the first hour. (and then I was hooked =P) Here are 2 of my favorites:

Or, just do a search on 'gpt site', and you will come up with a bunch. =)

Here's an unusual angle I recently stumbled across, by way of another site I believe to be legit (don't recall which one right now). It's called Project Payday. Google shows it plus various links about it. From my reseach, it seems to be entirely legitimate. The Terms Of Use (TOS) state that one must be at least 18 to use it. Could you find someone 18+ to work with you?

The link below goes to a review that seems to be independent, and describes how it works.

Good luck!

I'm not sure if you need your parents permission or not on this, but you can get paid to surf the net. No, really I'm serious. It's unbelievable but true, there is a company that pays people for just surfing the net, you don't have to buy, click on anything or fill out a survey. They simply collect money from companies like Google and Yahoo and pay it back to (you) it's members. Pretty cool, see what you think http://www.totalink.com/cgi-bin/pseek/go.cgi?id=9545

Hope this helps, good luck.

Since you're 14, you probably can't get a "job" yet. Baby sitting, dog walking, paper route, lawn mowing, yard work. Any of those should work!
