City Airport to Bank on the DLR then Northern Line to Kings Cross will take about 45 minutes.
Taxi will take 20-30 minutes and cost at least £30

Take the Picadilly Line: calling at all stations including King's Cross i think that you can make it -within 45 - 60 minutes you will be at King Cross - Trains run every 3-7 minutes depending on time of day

Waiting to get a ticket from the counter take you hours - make sure you have a small coins with you or atm card. it will be more easy to buy a ticket from the machine.

take taxi would be more faster - it will cost you around 30 pounds

Take a train from Gatwick to Victoria Station. At Victoria, change to the Tube and you can go directly to Kings Cross on the Victoria Line or the Circle or Hammersmith & City or the Metropolitan Line.

Yes, you should easily be able to make it to Kings Cross, but you'll definitely have to take a taxi. Bus will be too slow, and there aren't any tube stations nearby.

Hope this helps.
