EDIT: It was also just brought to my attention that your IP is already on a WATCH list. So i wouldnt post any questions like "where should i hide the body." chances are seince your asking about credit fraud, someones already flagged your IP.
Yes, It can and WILL be traced. Its called Credit fraud/ ID theft. Its a huge thing now because of terrorisim. They will trace your IP address and from that they (FBI/IRS) will come to your house, arrest you, then arrest your friend. You would be held as the main contributer because of the fact it is YOUR laptop at YOUR house running from YOUR registered mac address. He will be an acomplise because he supplyed the credit card. Where ever he has the product shipped will also be investigated. SO good luck. You both will go down.

It's not the first answer but yes, if you are online your computer will have a type of registry or address to it called an I.P. or Internet Protocol it most certainly can be traced. This number can most definitely lead investigators to you. If you are smart enough to be this cautious and ask this type of question here, then you're smart enough to realize that you should discourage your friend from not only using it on your laptop, he should not use it at all. These things have serious consequences that could come back to haunt you even later in your adult life.

Yes to a certainty. Most, if not all services now share the info with law enforcement, further, using the credit card (stolen) is a crime, possesion of the card is a crime, and using it on the enternet is another crime. Don't get involved, tell your "friend" he/she is a loser, and find new friends, they are not a REAL friend.

Do not allow this. Not only can it be traced back to you, you will be charged with a Felony for helping your friend.
A true friend does not ask you to help them commit a crime. This is not a friend. This person will stab you in the back and do everything they can to put all the blame on you. Do not trust this person.
You need to report this person to the police.

yes... they can obtain your IP address... don't do it... when my credit card was stolen once, the police caught the guy doing it by tracing back to the mailing address he had the merchandise shipped to... there really isn't any good way to do it... and if he does choose to do it (NOT on your computer) I sincerely, with all of my heart, hope that he goes to jail

how are you going to have it shipped? when it appears on your front door step, then it's essentially been traced back to you.
or you can order from the library (or other public domain) and have it shipped to a P.O. Box at the postal office.

Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time.
Enjoy your stay in the penitentiary, where you will have the pleasure of the company of lots of nice girl friends, just dying to be "serviced" by you ;-P

Yes it can be traced back to your laptop. Records of internet logs are kept by almost all e-commerical sites.

I'm sure it can. If your friend wants to use your laptop, then he/she is probably afraid of the same thing. Best thing to do is to tell him/her that she can't use your laptop. That way there is no doubt.

Tell your friend that (s)he is so stupid it's not even funny. Tell her that you don't like it that your friend is using you because she is afraid she will be caught using her own laptop. I hope you don't get caught.
