Over the weekend, I was at my girlfriend's parents house(They already don't appreciate me).

I used their toilet and I basically did a number (2) but, what I didn't know was that their plumbing wasn't all that great. So, the toilet overfilled with all the extra ingredients but, that's not where it gets worse.

I basically used their towels to sort of clean up the mess and threw it out of the bathroom window. Hoping nobody would find out. Well, let's just say the dad was on the side of the house BBQing.

I was very apologetic but, I still feel stupid for the remainder of 5 hours that I was there.

Does anyone have an idea how I can recover from such emarrassing moment. Specially when the family doesn't like you to begin with?

Send them a package with a new set of towels and card with an apology. Let them know you felt they didn't like you much and you were doing what ever you could at the time of panic to impress them and that though you may like you less now, that the love you have for your girlfriend won't change and you will continue to treat her as the queen that she is....

Good luck casanova.

you should have embarrassingly told someone what happened and asked for something to clean it up with. instead you used their towels and then tried to disregard their personal things by throwing them out the window. you have heard the term sh** happens right? best thing to do now is to humbly apologize to them for your behavior and explain that you were so embarrassed by the incident that you panicked and did the first thing that you thought of. after you had time to think about it you realized that what you did was rude and wrong and that you could have handled it differently. remember too that they should have told you that they had plumbing problems to begin with, that was rude to not tell you in advance.

That's about as bad as it gets. It'll take a lot of time, offer to clean up or hire someone else to clean up, but them new towels, and send them to a local restaurant, with you paying, while you make it perfect. You can make it better than ever, if you own up and clean up. It can work. Don't whimp out ...
