Is it me or does Oprah have a tendency to interrupt her guests a LOT? I've seen this several times before on her show.

I was home ill from work today and happened to catch Oprah on television. Bob Greene was her guest and Oprah was plugging his newest weightloss type book. It sounded interesting and I really wanted to hear what he had to say....but I couldn't. Because it just seemed that Oprah kept talking, and talking, and talking, and interrupting, and interrupting, and interrupting. I got so frustrated, I finally just turned the program off...it was clear I wasn't going to hear what Bob had to say. He just sat there and took it!

Now, I don't mind Oprah...I really don't. But, today I was so frustrated, I actually yelled at the television, "Girl...shut UP!"

Does anyone else think she interrupts too much, or am I just grumpy because I'm not feeling well?

Oprah doesn't interrupt her guests nearly as much as the ladies on "The View" interrupt each other during Hot Topics - and whenever they have a guests discussing the situation in Iraq.

It is very frustrating to me when I'm really closely listening to the guest who is on their way to making a point, or telling the story... and Oprah interrupts to share her view of it (always something spiritual), and then the guest never finishes what they were saying. I've had to turn her off because it's so frustrating!!!

At least she's not a attention starved as Martha Stewart. Martha will always ask the guest a question and then somehow always manage to talk about herself. At least Oprah doesn't do that. She's an intelligent woman and I value what she says, but she does talk for a living..and talk...and talk. I like Oprah, I hate Martha.

I think Oprah is just so extremely interested in what Bob had to say today she went over the top. I think she usually let's her guests say what they want. Dieting has been a part of her life so long and Bob's been a tremendous help to her and I think she just wanted everyone to know what's healthy. She gets that way. lol
Hope you feel better.

Umm, Oprah is the "Talk Show" Queen so perhaps she is just talking because one, it is her show and I am so proud of that! At times she moves her guest along to stay on the timetable mark. Those who want to bash Oprah are just jaded! Go Oprah you rich, strong woman!

The reason most of us watch these shows is because of whatever guest might be on. However, it seems as if the quest has to struggle to make themselves heard.

It seems as if the talk show hosts like to listen to themselves talk and the quest is mere window dressing. I have begun watching talk shows less often because of this.

sure she is. The upside to that's that it makes it greater handy to overlook approximately her. yet there are cases while she interrupts somebody with something somewhat interesting to declare, so anybody loses out on it. Bob won't call her on it, he desires her to maintain his software going.

Oprah is a self gratifying doofus. She needs to be in the spotlight, she wants everyone to think she is smarter than her guests...which in reality she probably is. because her guests are usually Dumb as well
