I waited til about 2 weeks with my kids, by then I felt stronger & better about going out in public.
I think it was more of a me thing tho, I don't see how it could be bad for your 1 week old to be in public at all.

My daughter was born in November, so there was no chance to relax. We had our first family get-together when she was 9 days old. I agree that if the weather is nice and the baby is dressed properly, you should be fine. If you are going to the store, take some hand sanitizer. Stores are super germy. Just use a bit, before handling the baby or her things.

If you need to take the baby out you can just try to avoid busy, crowded places or places where there are many small children for the first 4 to 6 weeks,(like Walmart or other shopping areas). Babies cannot blow their nose and have a difficulty breathing if they get a cold. At that age there is nothing you can really give them to relieve the symptoms so you need to try to keep them from getting a cold. Contrary to popular belief, cold air doesn't cause a baby to get sick, they are more likely to get ill in a hot place,(germs grow better in a warm moist atmosphere). So go out just be careful where you go and who touches or breathes on him.

Yeah, I also took my son out early. He, too, was born on a Wednesday and we were out with him on Saturday. Didn't seem to bother him at all.
I think that as long as you have help with you or you can handle all 3 at once while you're out and you feel up to it, I see no reason to stay indoors just because the baby isn't 3-4 weeks old.
Good luck!

no they usually say it is about a month and 2 weeks because that baby really doesnt have any shots yet to protect him from being exposed to anything there are alot of jerms all over public places. I would recommend you wait. I didnt and my baby caught a really bad cough because he had not gotten his first shot to protect him and i took him out ahead of time. He was really bad they had him on two antibiotics and the nebulizer you dont want that to happen to your baby to wait dont end up regreting waiting.

Your good to GO! Nothing is wrong on waiting 1 wk.
I just wouldn't take the baby in a Hospital, or Nursing home just yet, other than that there shouldn't be a problem.

You can take baby out whenever you feel up to it. It's perfectly safe as long as he/she is dressed appropriately and you use caution when letting someone touch him (sanitize hands). I took my daughter to have her pictures taken at a portrait studio when she was just 4 days old :-)

I don't think so on either account. Whenever you are settled enough and ready to go out, then take baby and go. My first was born on a Wednesday, on that Saturday we were out grocery shopping for company that was coming into town. My second, I wasn't so easy with(I was 12 years older so ti wasn't as easy on me lol!!!), I think he was actually a week and a half before I felt up to going out and then it was just for a walk.

I took both my kids out when they were 5 days old. You just have to be careful where you take them and for how long.
