In severe case you can have something prescribed...I tried crackers and got sick of them after about 2 days...what I found that finally worked for me was I just bought some frozen bagels then nuked em for about 30 seconds just enough to thaw em out and get them slightly warm, then I ate them plain. I don't know if you are doing it, but what I read, and what ended up helping the most was to stop it before it starts...keep something beside your bed that you can stuff in your mouth the moment you wake up. Never let your stomach be empty if you can help it...It doesn't take the sickness away completely, but it sure does put a damper on it.

I always found that the vomitting made the nausea go away. But it's not a good solution if you can avoid it (and if you can avoid it, I'm so jealous of you!) There are several medications they can prescribe to help you during this time. The most common in Phenegran (Promethazine) but it can zonk you out and make you very sleepy. Reglan is also quite popular however more expensive. Then there is good ole Zofran (aka Gold in pill form- it runs about $50 a pill, so have good insurance!) There are a few others, but those three I have the most experience with. Call your doctor asap. They will call you in something. Good luck sweetheart, hopefully it will be gone soon!

Ditch the prenatal pills, your body and baby might not need them. I couldn't take them and had two lovely healthy babies at 9lb and 8lb.
Before you move in the morning have a ginger biscuit to calm the motion on your stomach as you come to ease out the bed and have one every time you feel sick.
Also make sure you are not hungry, if I was slightly hungry I would be sick as a dog. And smile it's only for another 4 weeks and you will bloom!!

i tried EVERYTHING when i was pregnant with my first, but all the things that friends midwife etc recommended, eg ginger biscuits, dry toast etc. nothing worked. i too couldnt even keep water down and it lasted until i was 28 weeks, i was being sick 40 - 50 times day and night. it only stopped when i was admitted to hospital with dehydratioin and was prescribed antisickness tablets. i was really reluctant to take them (in case they hurt the baby), but in the end i had no choice. i stopped being sick straight away. i have since had two more babies and as soon as the sickness gets anywhere bad ive taken the tablets, and have had no more all the way through the pregnancies. you may not like the idea of medication (i know i didnt) but it is the only thing that worked for me. mind you those who only get mild sickness the ginger biscuits etc. may work fine, but if it is getting to the stage where you cant keep water down i really think you should be asking for medical help. (p.s. my babies had no ill effects considering the medication etc.)

Yeah, you are probably too far down the slippery slope for anything to work. You need to go to the hospital and make sure that you aren't dehydrated because you can't keep in water. They will administer IV's to get fluids in you and also give you anti-nausea meds in your IV. After you do this, call your OB, tell them what is going on and that you need a script for anti-nausea. They sometimes work, and sometimes don't, but it is worth the try. Also, I've heard ginger (cookies, tea, whatever) help a great deal (but you are going to have to get rehydrated before any of this kind of thing will help.) Mint tea helped me alot with the nausea. Sea bands (wrist bands that are for anti-nausea/anti-motion) also help some women. But go to the hospital because you are getting into a dangerous area in which you are just going to end up passed out somewhere eventually.

I had the same problem and I talked to my doctor and he prescribed me something to help with the morning sickness. Also he told me that sometimes it's just your prenatal pills. He told me that you can stop taking them, but you'll need to start again around month 4 or 5. At 5 months, that's when it gets really important to take the pills, until then it's not that important.

Talk to your doctor - right away if you're having trouble keeping water down. Getting dehydrated makes the nausea and vomiting worse.
Some remedies that might work:
- ginger candies.
-preggie pops - lollies for pregnant women, available at some baby stores and on-line.
-limeade
-Sea Bands - anti-nausea wristbands that help some people. They're available at drugstores and at discount stores like Target and Walmart.
But seriously, if none of this stuff works and you're not keeping water down, you need to see your doctor pronto.

Ginger
Vitamin B
Seasickness bands (accupressure)
Drinking ice cold sugar water (dilute juice, dilute koolaid, dilute gatoraid) -not just plain water. Some women do better with room temp. Ice works for me in the car.
Peppermint tea
I am reasonably sure that for a day gravol is fine, but shouldn't be taken regularly. You should check with the doctor. There might be something safer. Also look into something for the longer term if you need it, you need it

I was exactly like you at 8 weeks. I am now 12 weeks. First take your prenatal pills at dinner time. It will make you less nauseaous. Then take 25mg of B6 and 25mg of Unisom at night before bed and then first thing in the morning take 25 mg of B6 and 12.5 mg (half the pill) of unisom. It's the only thing that has helped me. My doctor said the unisom is safe. (just don't get extra strength). Hope this helps. Good luck!

my m/s started about 6 weeks and lasted for about 2.5 weeks. It was miserable. I vomitted only twice, but felt like I was going to all the time. The things that got me thru was saltines and sliced sharp cheese and nutrigrain bars. (I chose the blueberry and apple ones - but they come in strawberry too.) I kept the nutrigrain bars with me at ALL times. I left one with a bottle of water on my night stand too. Then at like 4AM, when I woke up hungry but sick, I ate the bar. The water helped me, because I seem to be getting dry mouth a lot too.
But hang in there. For me it was weird. One day I woke up, and wasn't sick anymore. It was hard for me to do because I was feeling so miserable, but getting fresh air outside helped a lot, like taking an easy flat (no hills) walk in the morning/evening. There were days I didn't want to move, but the days I could force myself to at least walk to the end of my short street and back really helped.
Good luck and hang in there. It is awful!
