you need to add more RAM...double it to 1024, that should help you...remember that THE GAME needs 512 all by itself, the PC still needs RAM to do other things too, that's why it locks up, it's using all of it's resources for your game.

You don't say how fast your CPU (processor) is, or what version of Windows you are running. Both of these are very important, as is the amount of RAM. If the game states that you need 512Mb and you're running a slower processor with Windows XP, then you will need to upgrade your RAM.
You may also look at any updates that are available for the game; it may be as simple as applying a patch that corrects the lockups.

This is simple!!!
Just because your comp has 512 Megs of RAM, that don't mean that you have 512 M o' RAM available fer ya fella/gal).
You forget that other things take up RAM as soon as you boot up.
The mouse takes some RAM. It's known as a TSR program, (Terminate and stay resident).
Your AntiVirus program running in the background is similar, etc.
SO, when you run your game requiring 512 Megs of RAM, it jest ain't there to be used and that's why yer comp clams up cuz you went and done gone left it hungry fer more memry, momry, mammary, ah, you get it.

The game may need 512 RAM but everything needs RAM to function properly.
You can see if your computer can handle more RAM by going to Crucial.com and running a scan.

Everything takes RAM. Not only security products but your operating system, active browser windows, running applications (such as Word, Gaming, Messenger, Photoshop, etc) all require system resources. Even your graphivs card needs RAM.

Have you checked the requirements of the whole game?
WoW, i guess, most importantly is the graphic card and the connection to the game. If you don't have a fast enough graphics card, you might face problem even seeing at your own character.

Hi. 512MB is the minimum RAM. Add more and the results will improve I'll bet.

You need to get a better video card, usually if you go to best buy or any tech store tell them what kind of computer you have and that you need the video card and they will show you what you need and even how to install it. That's it!
