I've heard some girls talk about how they love men in uniform or military men in general. Why are women attracted to them?

I am not sure, but my guess is that we still look for the kind of guy who is responsible and tough.
You kwow, someone who can protect us, in case we need it, and who would be a responsible provider, in case we need it.
And men in uniforms makes you think in men's discipline, strength and loyalty.

Probably for the same reason that some jobs like to hire prior military. The fact that they served shows bravery, integrity, etc. and the fact that they can work as a team with others to serve their country, etc. It's just plain sexy. I personally find men in uniforms (all except restaurant and janitor uniforms) to be kinda sexy. And I love to wear uniforms myself (alleviates the need to pick out something to wear every day). I would LOVE to earn a Post Office uniform, but my driving record is too bad. (sad face with bottom lip poked out).

Because a man in uniform usually shows they want something out of life, means they are hard working. They also look cleaned up, everything in place. They listen to what other say usually.

I don't know but it's true. I used to wear a uniform-female-and men seemed to swarm all over me. Course I was pretty cute back in those days. . .

I agree with the answers given, that the idea of a person in uniform promotes the ideal of being disciplined and caring and responsible. I agree with GentleButterfly that Jackal (an apt name) is just dispicable, but I am assuming he is trying to be nasty because he simply *is* that: nasty.

okay!! let me tell you speaking from years of experience i live in a g.i. town and everywhere you look they are there ! and they look like real men or what a real man should look like to a woman .
women look at them in their uniform walking so tall and looking so fine, knowing that theycould be sent off to die for their country. and that takes honor and courage.and if they would do it for their country they damn sure would do it for your honor and protection. and if that's not a real man then i don't know what is ??
