I am sorry that happened to you. I don't know why people always blame the victim. My family is like that and it is really hurtful.

People are pretty mean on here a lot, and that sucks but it happens. As far as your car, if you buy a used car then it is a case of "buyer beware". I bought a used car with 100k miles on it from a large dealership, it started leaking TONS of antifreeze on the way home. Then the computer in it kept saying "check engine", took it to them about 20 times in four months until the warranty ran out. Then 6 mo after I bought it the rod in the engine went out and it needed a new engine. It happens a lot with used ones, that's why somebody wanted to sell it.

This isn't the easiest place in the world to find empathic souls. I'm glad these people are all so perfect that they have never gotten screwed over, or that no one has ever done them wrong

Because when you are an adult, you are responsible for the choices you make - even bad ones. If you bought a car that was a piece of crap, unfortunately, it's your problem unless the seller made specific guarantees to you. That's the law.

Maybe you let them take advantage of you. I do or did anyway - for a long time.
