It is established fact that Al Quaida and Saddam had ties and were working together against the USA. The documentation is overwhelming.

As to why the loony Left refuses to acknowledge that fact, you must employ Josef Goebbel's maxim that if you repeat a lie often enough and long enough, it becomes the truth to many people.

edit:

Well, as per usual the leftwing zealots have twisted the facts. All those people and commisions et al the terrorist lovers have posted stated that, in fact, there were no links between Saddam and the 9/11 attacks. Indeed, no such links have been discovered.

But, pre-war links between Saddam and Al Quaida abound and have been well documented.

Heck, he even built them a terrorist training facility at Salman Pak. Thank God we have a real president who takes the terrorists seriously rather than some leftwing nutjob like those who post here in the White House.

Why do we deny it? Because it is false. Even the Pentagon said so.

"However, a declassified Pentagon report released Thursday said that interrogations of Saddam and two of his former aides as well as seized Iraqi documents confirmed that the terrorist organization and the Saddam government were not working together before the invasion.

The Sept. 11 Commission's 2004 report also found no evidence of a collaborative relationship between Saddam and Osama bin Laden's Al Qaeda network during that period."

People who had an inkling of knowledge about the region knew talks of a Saddam - AQ linkup were bafflegab. Saddam was a secular Alawite notorious for jailing, exiling, torturing, and killing Muslim religious extremists. There was a law passed by Saddam declaring proselyzation for Wahabbi Shiism (Osama's drug of choice) punishable by death, and Osama issued a fatwa in response, describing Saddam as an apostate.

Also, the ONLY known AQ terrorist camps in Iraq at the time of the invasion were NOT in areas of the country under Saddam's control, but in the Kurdish controlled north.

Why are you, not only embarrassing the country, but embarrassing the republican party. Are you lost? Your own parting knows they didn't have any connections. I don't really care if I get points or not. What are you all doing here. Why aren't you fighting the war. I don't care if you have been there or not. Because you want to talk but not walk the walk. How can not wanting innocent men and women and 7 children just today, be cowardly. That is strong and brave. That is what we look to our soldier for. To protect, it isn't kill innocent people. Our soldiers don't
want that. If I was born to want peace then thank God. I have come from a military family. Someone in my family has fought in every war until after Viet Nam. None of us want this war. One other thing. I don't think I would purchase or do business with anyone supporting this war. They cannot be trusted. To include Hillary. If she supports staying in Iraq.

The only person in the gov't who says there is a link is Cheney. All studies have otherwise. Cheney refuses to ever say why he thinks there is a link-he wont reveal sources or what the link is.

Either he is lying, or he is just flat out refusing to share info with ANY intelligence group. That does not inspire faith. By Bush logic, if he had nothing to hide he would have shared the info by now.

9/11 Commission, France, UK, Pentagon, FBI, everyone except the Executive branch of the US has said there was no link.

The initial resistence in Iraq that was met were Saudi's, typically well to do college students who were just brought in to fight the Americans, not trained fighters there had been training there.

There are no links of a working relationship. Any Saddam/al-Qaeda links are just are realistic as USA/al-Qaeda links. Heck, the link between USA/Saddam is the strongest, as we were the suppliers of the chemical weapons we thought he possessed.

al-Zrqawi was not a member of al-Qaeda until AFTER Saddam was toppled, so the connection is really invalid. On top of the fact al-Qaeda is largely a fictional organization.

Probably because our own CIA, British intelligence, French intelligence, and Russian intelligence all conclusively say there was no ties between Saddam and Al Qaeda. Also Bush himself has said such, also Cheney, also Rumsfield. Create all these grand scenarios you want, the facts do not support your wild connections.
