There is nothing better than a good storm. The stillness right before, the smell of it far away but coming to you. Sitting on the porch and just watching the sky and seeing that perfect crackled lightening bolt and ...quick start counting so you will know how far away the center of the storm is. Keep counting until you hear it thunder...
The storms over, you can still smell the storm though, the wind picks up a little, the cool air comes in and the humidity is gone! Thank goodness. It's still eerie, the quiet..
Someones crying.. OMG quick go get the kids from under the table the are terrified.....

Normally, I agree with you, I'm just getting tired of it. It's rained here for over a week now, and it always seems to be a huge thunder-and-lightning thing, with lots of wind, and great big drops, not just normal-sized ones. The spots on the driveway when it started a while back looked like wet baseballs had hit it!

that would be cool...but we don't have them here - really. if we did have a thunder storm, all heck would break loose....storm track would be severe weather track...ha....occasionally we get an earthquake, haven't had one in quite a while though. I'm on the OC, southern CA. just nice weather all year. it's rough, but someone's got to do it. :)
where are you that a storm is coming?
