A lot less than before, due to cost. I don't take visiting nurse jobs that are far away, leaving some clients with little or no care, but the cost of gas is too expensive and reimbursements not enough. I also don't just randomly go out to a store, so I buy alot less and find I really didn't need to have all the stuff anyway. Too bad the businesses suffer for the cost of gas, but they voted for the oil guys. I also don't eat at fast food restaurants anymore, just shop in one trip once every 2 weeks. Needless to say I don't do fun day trips to interest points like in years past, so basically not many businesses I spent lots of money on in the past years or vacation places get my money anymore. I also use candles for light, since the electric companies got too much of my money. It is nice to scale down and have more money in the bank by realizing that you don't need to use as much oil.

Who said we were anti-oil. We're anti-getting ripped off at the gas pump. We're pro-progress when it comes to finding alternative energy production like electric cars and hybrids. We're pro-progress and want solutions to being dependent on oil as our only source of energy. This part is called monopoly on the part of the oil corporations. We are pro-clean air, pro clean water, and pro planet. What's wrong with that? Why do you pit the welfare of the oil cartel against the american people and their needs? Why do you take such an extreme view that if we give up oil, we have to go back to living in trees. This is not even a possibility for one thing. And, it doesn't need to be such a drastic change of life if the technology changes and a system is implemented to sustain it.

To say a liberal is anti-oil is a very broad statement. To say a liberal doesn't want to sell our country's soul for oil might be closer to the fact. There are other alternatives. Oil doesn't need to be our sole source of energy. To research and implement other sources of energy would make us well rounded country. It would also reduce the oil producing countries ability to hold our country hostage with their product.

I love oil. I want oil to be more affordable for everyone.
We can do this by getting government off the backs of the oil companies. Some regulation is OK. But there is too much now.
We need to open up our shores for drilling, we need tar sands, and oil shale, and we need more refineries. We also need to reduce our blends of gasoline from 13 to maybe 3.
This will cause the price of oil to plummet and it will help our economy enormously. Oil drives a large portion of our economy.

Many of the polymers made from crude petroleum can be made just as easily from vegetable oils. The only thing crude is required for is cars. If you'd all drive safe speeds we wouldn't need gasoline engines that exceed all posted speed limits.

Wow...so if you cant eliminate it you should just feel free to consume without regret?
You win the award the worst logical in history!
You get a star!
I use oil, its inevitable, but we may as well minimize the amount. There is only so much available currently, why not pace ourselves? Or are you the type of guy who goes to a buffet, sees something he likes and piles all of it on his plate?
If you are, how do you deal with the resulting indigestion?

Yes it's true they are hypocrites. They hate oil companies because they need a bad guy to get people going much like Hilter used the Jews to inspire hate.
