I think the Spurs are a great team with a great coach.
And I hope that they have more championships in the coming years.

yeah, you could take most years from most teams that won the championship and make some excuse why they won it or had the easy road. There are injuries that mess up favorites and someone else wins, there are suspensions, bad calls from time to time, etc...The bottom line is that you get 7 games to win. If you can't beat someone in 7, then you do not deserve to go on and if you beat someone in 7, much less sweep them, you deserve the championship. If anything this year proved just how great San Antonio was. Detroit lost in 6 (? I think) and San Antonio swept the cavs. If San Antonio wasn't as good as they are, it would have been a better series but the fact that San Antonio was crazy good in the playoffs just goes to prove that it was a well deserved championship and to sweep shows even more. Phoenix had a chance and if they would have beat San Antonio, they would have won it all. The bottom line is that it's extremely hard to make the finals and if you do and win, you earned that championship. People who say otherwise are kind of ignorant of basketball and just how hard the playoffs are.

The problem with the Spurs is they are boring. They're doing what they should do to win titles, but it isn't fun to watch. Tim Duncan is great, but the average fan gets tired of seeing grinding defense and Duncan scoring over whoever's guarding him. The Spurs have no flare, they just get the job done.

Wow. You are a true basketball fan. For that, you get a star. I agree that if the Spurs were in say, Phoenix (don't yell at me, fellow Spurs fans!) or as you said, Boston, they wouldn't be called boring. They'd be hailed as champions the world over and there wouldn't be any of this talk of putting an asterisk on any of their championship titles.
Bravo, good Lakers fan! I applaud you.

Thank you...someone who finally realizes good basketball. The Spurs earned every ring they got. I think they deserve to be up there with the greats (Lakers, Bulls, Celtics). Also, i hated the Lakers during their 3 year run, and everytime they played and beat the Spurs, i killed me inside. But i never lost respect for the Lakers because of how good basketball they were playing. kudos.

glad that I'm not the only Non spurs fan who respects them. Spurs are a class act and all the people complaining the spurs are boring would love to have that team and those rings and to drink and celebrate on the riverwalk. (I was there sunday, pretty cool. now if only I can celebrate one with the mavs and enjoy a prade through deep elm and the west end.)

i totally agree with you, it is only because it is not a team in NY or boston that they are not getting alot of attention. That is what is wrong with the NBA, the big market teams stink, so nobody watchs. In the 1980's when basketball was really popular, the knicks and bulls palyed like there was no tommorow.

i dont like to admit it cause i am a native clevelander & of course cavs fan. but ive never paid attn to san an till this year, since they have gotten more exposure, but after watching them play, i think about them vs mj's bulls, lakers, etc...with as good of a defense as they have, i think they could at least hang with those teams. i mean, think about it, jordan was rarely double or triple teamed the way lebron was, but if he was, i dont you think it wouldve been very tough on him & his teams, i do. they a great d, & when i watch them, they pretty much cover the entire floor, i mean there are no holes or wide open people even when theyre doubling lebron. so i agree with you, but im not tired of the lack of respect, cause ive never rooted for them & probably never will,
