Where do you draw the line between a child's privacy and the need for the accuracy of a rectal thermometer? I am so glad I am not a woman so I really don't have to deal with this issue. :)

They have thermometers that you can put in their ear now. When I have children I plan on using those. Unless I discover that there is an age limit or something.

Eww...why not just use an ear or underarm thermometer?

I don't know anyone who uses those. Just use the underarm or ear ones.

When the child can obey if the parent tells them to keep thier mouth closed...I guess that would be never.
