I was 13. It was Christmas. My dad bought me a bottle of Martini and Rosso (not sure of spelling). He allowed me to drink about 30 ml of Martini mixed with a full glass of sprite. I felt very grown up. He allowed me to drink this mix at special occasions and the odd Sunday roast dinner.
I never felt the need to sneak a drink. As I got older and my friends were stealing drinks or sneaking them, I just asked my mum and she supplied the appropriate amount and watched my intake. I got drunk once when I was 16 at a party. I told my mum straight away. She wasn't cross, she just hoped I'd learned my lesson. Which I did. I didn't get drunk again until I was 19. Even though legally I could drink at 18 I was doing it responsibly because it was not a big deal.
I have to say my parents never let me have more than one drink and it was always to do with a special occasion. They were responsible which in turn made me responsible.
Ok, getting drunk, even at 19, isn't responsible... However everyone needs to go through a rebellious phase. I'm just glad mine was when I was older and I made my own decisions and not cause by peer pressure.

Me and my little friend were around 11,12...we snuck a bottle of Vodka from her Dad and then went and bought chock late milkshakes to mix it in with....yes the resulting sickness involved later is still lengendary in the neighborhood~

Babycham aged 8 yrs old - never touched alcohol again until 17yrs old.

A baby.
In the 70's there was stuff they gave babies who cried too much called "gripe water". Contained alcohol.

i was 16 but ma kid tried it the other week and shes only 14 was not happy but the state she was in she hasnt tried it again so im happy about that

4 years old. I was given brandy by my dad to keep the chill off. I later told everyone.

I was 21 and cleaning police cells. At 34, I've just given it up again - me and stimulants don't mix well.

apparently i was 2yrs old, i used to sneak round the back of the armchair my mum was sat on and nick her addvocaat. used to do it quite regular so she says, it was in the early 70s and i cant stand the stuff now lol xx
